The Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission (CBFA) warns the public against the activities of Warwick Ventures (www.warwickvc.com), which is contacting Belgian investors with a view to offering investment services and which carries out intermediation within the framework of public offerings of securities issued by undertakings for collective investment.
Warwick Ventures claims to be a company with registered office in the Cayman Islands at Strathvale House, 90 North Church Street, George Town, Grand Cayman, BWI, and claims to have offices in the Bahamas at Samana Hill, P.O. Box N 4589, No. 14 Village Rad (North), Nassau, as well as in Cyprus at Suite 306-314, 3rd Floor, Athienitis Centennial Building, 48 Themistoklis Dervis Ave, Nicosia, CY-1066 and in Japan at Garden Air Tower 23J, 3-10-10 Lidabashi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-8460. It does not have the authorization in Belgium necessary to offer investment services in or from Belgium or to carry out intermediation within the framework of public offerings of securities issued by undertakings for collective investment.
The CBFA thus advises the public against responding to any offers of investment services made in the name of Warwick Ventures and against transferring money to any account number they might mention.
Anyone wishing more generally to enquire as to the regularity of any transaction proposed can find further information on the "Consumer Protection" page of the CBFA web site (www.cbfa.be) or by contacting the “Protection of Consumers of Financial Services” Department (telephone: +32 2 220 59 10; email address: peri@cbfa.be).
